This kit will install on the back of your instrument cluster and turn the coolant and oil gauges into real ones!
Wonder how fast those needles can actually move?
The coolant gauge, as it comes from the factory, is useless. It will never let you know when your engine is overheating - until it is too late.
The oil pressure gauge is the embodiment of uselessness - it never moves from its slightly off centered position regardless of actual oil pressure. It may as well be replaced by a light bulb...
Under this kit, the coolant gauge will start moving off center as soon as 100C/212F and max out at 115C/240F; letting you know things have gone south!
In this picture, the coolant temp is 107C - but it can be made to be more, or less !
The oil pressure gauge will now be proportional with true oil pressure, and as such it will center at 3 bar/45psi, and max out at 6 bar/85psi which is what most cars get.
In this picture, the engine oil is hot, the engine is idling and the pressure shown is about 2 bar. The letter L stands for 0 pressure, and the center stands for 3 bar / 45 psi.
But if you don't like these ranges, you don't have to! The kit can be customised to your liking before you place the order. Fill out the comments when placing your order.
One more example is this:
Coolant temperature = 95C / 203F
Oil pressure = 1.7 bar / 25 psi
Oil pressure = 5 bar / 72 psi.
The defaults of the kit are:
(3 bar = ~ 45 psi;)
(5 bar = ~ 70 psi; what most stock RX8s make)
One more feature is that the kit can send true oil pressure via OBD2 towards Torque Pro app and similar. The kit doesn't interfere with other OBD2 devices.
Kit comes with all needed hardware and installation instructions.
Oil pressure sensor installation methods:
1) where the factory oil pressure switch was:
2) install the sensor in a banjo bolt that enters the oil filter stand:
