This is a bespoke gauge set for the series 1 RX8, that installs directly in the factory instrument cluster for an OEM-like experience of the most important engine parameters.
Description
Consisting of oil pressure/temperature sensors, a sleek screen that mounts inside the factory instrument cluster and a tiny control board that goes on the back, this kit is meant to blend in with the OEM looks while providing crucial gauges about the engine.


You may also mix the units(for example temperatures in °C, pressure in PSI or temperatures in °F and pressure in BAR).
As standard feature, the kit will change brightness(dim or brighten) and color(white or red) automatically, to match the cluster at all times.
Another standard feature is the screen turning bright red in case a particular gauge triggers an alarm for overheating, lack of oil pressure, or too high of an engine oil temperature.
Default alarm levels are:
1) Coolant temperature(higher than): 225F/105C
2) Lack of oil pressure(less than): 7 PSI/0.5 bar
3) Oil temperature(higher than): 230F/110C
These can be changed, for free, during checkout(leave a message). Or by you, with the optional customization keyboard, at any time.

1)Â Modding the scaling of the factory coolant temperature gauge(that needle). Under stock functionality, this needle will not budge in between 160F-235F (70C-113C), and you won’t notice that it has left its “usual” position until 245F(120C). This is WAY too late for you to catch an overheating engine before it causes damage to the engine. This mod will have the needle start going off center as soon as 212F(100C), maxing out at 230F. It will be obvious that something is going wrong!


3) Rotary compression tester: the RX8 Cluster Gauge Kit can turn into a rotary compression tester. Will show 3 raw compression readings, the cranking RPM of the starter, ambient pressure and 3 corrected readings for 250RPM and sea level. These will be nicely color coded so it is very clear how well the test turned out. Normally priced at $170 for a separate unit, it figures that if you don’t already have one this is the absolute best time to get one!
